As-Salamu Alaykum!

Sadaqa (charity) has been one of my favorite topics in Islam for a long time. The power of sadaqa is absolutely amazing according to various hadith and ayat.

This is a new one to me in comparison the Prophet (PBUH) makes is absolutely amazing:

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said:
“I command you to give charity. Its example is like that of a man who has been held by his enemies, his hands have been tied to his neck, and he has been drawn near with the intention of being beheaded; suddenly he enquires of the possibility of saving his life by giving money. Then he began giving whatever valuable things – of little or more value – that he had, till he was able to get himself freed.”
[Haakim]

Allah wants us to submit and rely upon him for EVERYTHING. He knows how dear our money is to us and how reliant on it we are. When we give the thing we are dependent upon the most for the sake of attaining Allah’s pleasure, it tells Him that we truly depend on Him for our sustenance, and not ourselves.

May Allah guide us and our loved ones to the straight path.

I wanted to share hadith that has always been dear to me.

Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said:
“When Allah drowned Firaun, he said (while drowning), ‘I believe that there is no God but He in whom the Children of Israil believe.’ Jibreel said to me, ‘O Muhammad! If you could have seen me when I took the mud from the sea and shoved it into his mouth, fearing that the mercy of Allah might save him.’” [Tirmidhi]

This is one of my favorite hadith! Usually we view religious stories as somewhat “holy”… The beautiful thing about this hadith is that you can literally close your eyes and imagine the angel Jibeel (AS) doing this as Firaun is sinking.

Let’s repent to Allah for all of our sins and beg for His forgiveness before it is too late.

May Allah guide us and our loved ones to the straight path!

I want to share this beautiful hadith with you on this beautiful Friday!

“On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:

If Allah has loved a servant [of His] He calls Gabriel (on whom be peace) and says: I love So-and-so, therefore love him. He (the Prophet peace be upon him) said: So Gabriel loves him. Then he (Gabriel) calls out in heaven, saying: Allah loves So-and-so, therefore love him. And the inhabitants of heaven love him. He (the Prophet peace be upon him) said: Then acceptance is established for him on earth. And if Allah has abhorred a servant [of His], He calls Gabriel and says: I abhor So-and-so, therefore abhor him. So Gabriel abhors him. Then Gabriel calls out to the inhabitants of heaven: Allah abhors So-and-so, therefore abhor him. He (the Prophet peace be upon him) said: So they abhor him, and abhorrence is established for him on earth. “

Subhan’Allah! Everything our beloved Messenger (PBUH) said is 100% true and don’t have to believe it.
Allah says in the Quran:

By the star when it sets!
Your companion has not strayed; he is not deluded;
he does not speak from his own desire.
It is nothing less than a inspiration that is inspired to him
It was taught to him by one with mighty powers,
[Quran 53:1-5]

Instead of sucking up to the whole world and trying to get them to accept us, why don’t we just focus on pleasing our Creator and getting His acceptance? We will take care of the res.

May Allah guide us all in our love ones to the straight path!

A brother shared this with me the other day, and I wanted to pass it on. It is definitely something to make a stop and think about our very own condition!

Shaqeeq Bin Ibraheem (RA) says: ” In four things a person conforms with me by way of his tongue but opposes me by way of his deeds.

1)He says that we are the servants (and slaves) of Allah subhanahu wa tala,Yet does the deeds of free people.

2)He says that Allah subhanahu wa tala is responsible for our sustenance, yet his heart is not at ease upon this responsibility until at such time that he is not in possession of any worldly material.

3)He says that the hereafter holds virtue over the world, yet he always worries about hoarding wealth for this world (he has no worry for the hereafter).

4)He says that death is inevitable, it will definitely come, yet his deeds are like those who do not want to die.“

Did you find yourself in any of the above?

Subhan’Allah I found myself in all four of the above. May Allah strengthen our deen! Make He put the loveof akhirah above the love of dunya into our hearts.

A beautiful verse from the Quran:

…Such is the admonition given to him who believes in Allah and the Last Day. And for those who fear Allah, He (ever) prepares a way out, And He provides for him from (sources) he never could imagine. And if any one puts his trust in Allah, sufficient is (Allah) for him. For Allah will surely accomplish his purpose: verily, for all things has Allah appointed a due proportion.
[Quran 65:2-3]

It is quite sad how desensitized we have become when it comes to those suffering around the world. Children are dying of starvation every minute while we go away leftover food.

Our Muslim brothers and sisters around the world are dying, suffering, being tortured and terrorized EACH AND EVERY DAY and it doesn’t bother us one bit. It doesn’t hurt us, nor do we lose any sleep over. Children in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Palestine, and many other place are being killed every day and we could care less. We should be ashamed of ourselves.

The following hadith from Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam tells us how we SHOULD behave:

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “The similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, affection, fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches, because of sleeplessness and fever.”
[Muslim]

If your finger, foot, or any part of your body is hurting, you cannot sleep. Your body may develop a fever while it tries to neutralize the pathogens in an infected part. When one part of your body is trying to fight the enemy, the whole body invariably gets involved in the process. The Prophet (PBUH) described the Ummah as one body!

So if a Muslim anywhere in the world, in the centre of the body or the tips, on the finger or on the toes, is hurting, you should feel the same pain. If you are only concerned about your safety and the safety of your direct family, then there’s something wrong with you. You are not really part of the body. The Prophet (PBUH) said that the Ummah is one body: It doesn’t matter that they are split into different political states or that they belong to different Madhahibs/Fiqh, as long as the person is a Muslim they are a part of your body.

Sometimes we look at it as, “Only me and my group are Muslims.” Why? Because he doesn’t follow my Jamaa’h, he’s not following my way? As long as you cannot prove that that Muslim is a Kafir (disbeliever), he is a Muslim. As long as you don’t have evidence that such a person is a Murtad (apostate), he is a Muslim; whether he belongs to the same Madhhab or the same group or the same country or not, makes no difference.

We all talk about the importance of having unity. If having unity means having one group, abandoning all the different Jamaa’ts and getting rid of all of the different Madhahibs, then we’ll all just be copies of each other and that’s an impossible thing to have. The fact that the Ummah is diverse and has these different elements in it, is what makes us strong. If a person running a business just has expertise in one area then eventully that will limit how much business he can get. But if he has people with multiple areas of expertise then the amount of business that they can go after will increase accordingly. What we mean by unity is that even though your approach to Islamic work might be different, the Imam that you follow might be different, you are there to help your brother when your brother is in need; that is unity.

Millions of Muslims around the world go through things we only see in horror movies, and we are so immune to it.

This post is simply to remind us. Let’s make a dua! For Allah to give them strength and patience. Let’s make a dua for Allah to help them remain steadfast to their deen. This world is nothing but a test, and I pray we are worthy of the reward that awaits. Let’s wake up and stop being completely careless of those suffering.

Another hadith by our beloved

Narrated ‘Aisha: (the wife of the Prophet) Allah’s Apostle said,
“No calamity befalls a Muslim but that Allah expiates some of his sins because of it, even though it were the prick he receives from a thorn.”
[Sahih Bukhari]

Allah will compensate all of the suffering THEY are going through, but it is also our duty to feel the pain and do what we can to help them.

The Messenger (PBUH) told us:

Narrated Abu Muisa Al-Ash’ari: The Prophet said,
“Feed the hungry, visit the sick, and set free the captives.”
[Sahih Bukhari]

And my one of my favorite ayat from the Quran pertaining to this topic:

“…Truly, God does not change the condition of a people
until they change what is in themselves…”
[Quran 13:11]

The state of the ummah is bad. We have gotten far away from Quran and sunnah. Sharia is not the ruling law in any “Islamic” country. Drugs, fornication, and all other immoralities all at large in all of the Muslim countries. Quran and Sunnah are forgotten and abandoned by most nations. Muslims don’t feel other Muslims’ pain and suffering. We have become selfish.

This is what Allah is referring to when He says “until they change what is within themselves…”

Once we go back to doing things according to the will of Allah, we can start expecting His help.

I will conclude with one of my favorite stories in Islam…

A Muslim woman was captured by the Romans and imprisoned, so the Romans laughed at her. The leader of the Roman king sarcastically said, “You won’t ever leave this place until the muslim king himself removes you from these shackles.” The woman shouted “Wa Mu’tasima!” [Oh my grief, Mu'tasima!].

The Roman King laughed at her and said : “He will never come to save you unless he was riding “ablaq” [a kind of horse that is colored with black and white]. [He said this in a way of mocking her and showing the impossibility of the situation.]

A Muslim man who was in the land of the Romans heard the woman call out the Muslim kings name, he found out she was Muslim. So he ran to the Muslims and told them about what he had heard.

When al-Mu’tasim heard of the news, he gathered a whole army, and said the famous quote “When the first person of my army reaches the land of the Romans, the last of my army will have left us [i.e. the Muslim barracks].” He made the entire army ride the “ablaq” horses. So they set off, and he went with them on his black and white horse too.

When they reached there, he took control of the area, captured it and himself entered the prison where the Muslim woman had been imprisoned.

“Who are you?” she said.

“I am al-Mu’tasim.” He freed her from her shackles, a sign of humiliation for the Romans.

Al Mu’tasim took over the land where this occurred, because they had waged war against the believers by humiliating a Muslim woman. Just like Allāh’s Messenger (PBUH) expelled the Banū Qaynuqa, for humiliating a Muslim woman.

May Allah help all those Muslims suffering around the world & give them patience!

As always, we begin by glorifying and praising the only One worthy of our praise and the glorifications. As brothers and sisters in Islam we should strive to help keep each other on track.

What I often see in myself and my Muslim brothers and sisters is that we are changing our ways in order to fit in with the rest of the society.

Brothers are abandoning the beard because it is not “hip”. Sisters are not wearing the hijab because they are afraid of what the non-Muslims will say. Muslim kids are not fasting because they are afraid of being made fun of by other kids.

Our beloved Prophet (PBUH) thought us to the opposite of that this believers, and we are doing everything in our power to be just like them.

What I found interesting is that the disbelievers are changing their ways to accommodate the Muslims!

Recently, the famous soccer club Real Madrid, changed its logo. Real Madrid removed across from the top of the logo… in order to appeal to the Muslim fans in Europe and around the world.

A source in the club’s administration was quoted saying:

“to avoid any confusion or misinterpretation” in relation to a project being built in a largely Muslim region….

Makes you wonder how the rest of the world would act towards us and how much they would respect us if we began to respect ourselves and started following the way of our Messenger (PBUH)…

We should consider giving it a try.

Here is a great lecture by Siraj Wahhaj titled “Be opposite of the disbelievers”… I strongly encourage all the Muslim youth to watch it & share it with others, Insh’Allah…

May Allah help all of the Muslims around the world that are struggling to practice their deen fully because they are afraid of what others will say or think of them. We should always remember that it is Allah call controls the hearts of men and women — Muslims and non-Muslims alike! Pleasing Him should always be our top priority!

How often do we go through the day looking for ways to kill time? We check our Facebook every 2.5 minutes hoping to see some life-changing events that took place, knowing deep down inside that at best we are going to seeing a new “rage comic” or captioned photo…

SPEAKING OF FACEBOOK, like JustAnotherAbdullah’s page:

Anyways, back to the post. We look for ways to kill time while we have time. When time is up, we would pay millions, billions, THE WHOLE WORLD to just have 1 more minute to go back and do just 1 good deed…

Muaaz bin Jabal narrated that Rasool Allah said, “The people of Jannat will only regret that moment which had been empty of Zikr of Allah.”

We should really start valuing our time better. Insh’Allah while we are here, lets increase our remembrance of Allah.

Below, I’ve included various ways we can keep our Allah on our minds and on our tongues throughout the day. This dunya will suck us into it if we forget Allah throughout the day.

---

“حَسْبِيَ اللهُ لَآ إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ”.

Hasbiyallaahu laa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa Huwa ‘alayhi tawakkaltu wa Huwa Rabbul-’Arshil-’Adheem .

Allah is sufficient for me . There is none worthy of worship but Him . I have placed my trust in Him, He is Lord of the Majestic Throne. (Recite seven times in Arabic.)

Reference:
Allah will grant whoever recites this seven times in the morning or evening whatever he desires from this world or the next, Ibn As-Sunni (no. 71), Abu Dawud 4/321. Both reports are attributed directly to the Prophet (PBUH) (Marfu1). The chain of transmission is sound (Sahih). Ibn As-Sunni.

“سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ”.

Subhaanallaahi wa bihamdihi.

Glory is to Allah and praise is to Him. (Recite one hundred times in Arabic ).

Reference:
“Whoever recites this one hundred times in the morning and in the evening will not be surpassed on the Day of Resurrection by anyone having done better than this except for someone who had recited it more. ” Al-Bukhari 4/2071.

“أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ”.

‘Astaghfirullaaha wa ‘atoobu ‘ilayhi.

I seek the forgiveness of Allah and repent to Him. (Recite one hundred times in Arabic during the day.)

Al-Bukhari, cf. Al-Asqalani, Fathul-Bari 11/101, Muslim 4/2075.

“بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ”.

Bismillaahil-lathee laa yadhurru ma’as-mihi shay’un fil-’ardhi wa laa fis-samaa’i wa Huwas-Samee ‘ul- ‘Aleem .

In the Name of Allah, Who with His Name nothing can cause harm in the earth nor in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. (Recite three times in Arabic).

Reference:
“Whoever recites it three times in the morning will not be afflicted by any calamity before evening, and whoever recites it three times in the evening will not be overtaken by any calamity before morning.” Abu Dawud 4/323, At-Tirmithi 5/465, Ibn Majah 2/332, Ahmad. Ibn Majah’s chain of transmission is good (Hasan), Ibn Baz, p. 39.

“رَضِيتُ باللهِ رَبَّاً، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِيناً، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَى اللهُ عَلِيهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيَّاً”.

Radheetu billaahi Rabban, wa bil-’Islaami deenan, wa bi-Muhammadin (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallama) Nabiyyan.

I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion and with Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as my Prophet. (Recite three times in Arabic.)

Reference:
“Allah has promised that anyone who says this three times every morning or evening will be pleased on the Day of Resurrection.” Ahmad 4/ 337, An-Nasa’i, ‘Amalul-Yawm wal-Laylah p. 4, Ibn As-Sunni (no. 68), At-Tirmithi 5/465. Its chain of transmission is good (Hasan), Ibn Baz, p. 39.

“اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا، وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا، وَبِكَ نَحْيَا، وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُورُ”.

Allaahumma bika ‘asbahnaa, wa bika ‘amsaynaa, wa bika nahyaa, wa bika namootu wa ‘ilaykan-nushoor.

O Allah , by You we enter the morning and by You we enter the evening, 1 by You we live and and by You we die, and to You is the Final Return.2

Reference:
1 -When you say this in the evening you should say: Allaahumma bika ‘amsaynaa wa bika ‘asbahnaa, wa bika nahyaa, wa bika namoot, wa ‘ilaykal-maseer : “O Allah, You bring us the end of the day as You bring us its beginning, You bring us life and you bring us death, and to You is our fate.” 2 -Sahih At-Tirmithi 3/142.’

“اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتَ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتَ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِر لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ”.

Allaahumma ‘Anta Rabbee laa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa ‘Anta, khalaqtanee wa ‘anaa ‘abduka, wa ‘anaa ‘alaa ‘ahdika wa wa’dika mas-tata’tu, ‘a’oothu bika min sharri maa sana’tu, ‘aboo’u laka bini’matika ‘alayya, wa ‘aboo’u bithanbee faghfir lee fa’innahu laa yaghfiruth-thunooba ‘illaa ‘Anta.

O Allah, You are my Lord, there is none worthy of worship but You. You created me and I am your slave. I keep Your covenant, and my pledge to You so far as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I admit to Your blessings upon me, and I admit to my misdeeds. Forgive me, for there is none who may forgive sins but You.

Reference:
Whoever recites this with conviction in the evening and dies during that night shall enter Paradise, and whoever recites it with conviction in the morning and dies during that day shall enter Paradise, Al-Bukhari 7/150. Other reports are in An-Nasa’i and At-Tirmithi.

أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ “اللهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ”.

‘A ‘oothu billaahi minash-Shaytaanir-rajeem. Allaahu laa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyoom, laa ta’khuthuhu sinatun wa laa nawm, lahu maa fis-samaawaati wa maa fil-’ardh, man thai-lathee yashfa’u ‘indahu ‘illaa bi’ithnih, ya’lamu maa bayna ‘aydeehim wa maa khalfahum, wa laa yuheetoona bishay’im-min ‘ilmihi ‘illaa bimaa shaa’a, wasi’a kursiyyuhus samaawaati wal’ardh, wa laa ya’ooduhu hifdhuhumaa, wa Huwal- ‘Aliyyul- ‘Adheem.

I seek refuge in Allah from Satan the outcast. – Allah! There is none worthy of worship but He, the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never encompass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Reference:
Whoever says this when he rises in the morning will be protected from jinns until he retires in the evening, and whoever says it when retiring in the evening will be protected from them until he rises in the morning. It was reported by Al-Hakim 1 / 562, Al-Albani graded it as authentic in Sahihut-Targhib wat-Tarhib 1/273, and traces it to An-Nasa’i and At-Tabarani. He says that At-Tabarani’s chain of transmission is reliable (Jayyid).

In preparation to the upcoming visit by Shaikh Khalid Yasin, here’s a little video by this great brother.

One thing we can ALL (Muslim, Christian, Jew, Atheist, etc) agree on is: EVERYONE WILL DIE!

As Allah says in the Qur’an:

“Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing).”

(Qur’an Al-Imran 3:185)

Allah makes a promise in the Quran:

“Wherever you are death will find you out, even if you are in the towers built up strong and high…”

(Qur’an An-Nisa 4:11)

Death is something we must all reflect on. We much often remind ourselves just how short this life really is. We often run around, accumulating the material goods of this world, as if we will reside here forever. We often put this world ahead of the next; by forsaking prayers because of our job. We often please those around our at the expense of displeasing our Creator.

Let’s wake up my brothers and sisters and remember that our stay on this Earth is very limited. No one knows how long they will reside here, and after we die, eternity awaits. Let’s prepare for it.

May Allah open our eyes before it is too late and guide us to the straight path!

Today’s topic of discussion is the mercy of Allah. Insh’Allah I will start off with a few beautiful hadith:

The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Allah records good and bad deeds in this way: If anyone intends to do a good deed, but does not do it, Allah still records it with Him as one full good deed. If he intends a good deed and then carries it out, Allah records it with Him as ten to seven hundred times in reward or even increases it many times more. If anyone intends to do a bad deed but does not actually do it, Allah records it with Him as one full good deed. If he intends to do a bad deed and does it, Allah records it with Him as only one bad deed.” [Bukhari]

Allah’s Apostle said, “When Allah completed the creation, He wrote in His Book which is with Him on His Throne, “My Mercy overpowers My Anger.
Narrated Abu Huraira

This is a beautiful Hadith:

Imam Bukhari and Muslim reported that the prophet (S.A.W.) said, “Allah has divided mercy into one hundred parts, and He kept ninety-nine parts with Him and sent down one part on the earth, and because of that, one single part. His creatures are merciful to each other, so that even the mare lifts up its hoof away from its baby animal, so that she would not trample on it.”

Allah speaks of his mercy all throughout the Qur’an…

The mercy of Allah manifests itself in His overlooking the sins of the sinner when he unknowingly commits the sin then repents. Allah’s mercy is even beyond that; Allah changes the sins of the sinner, after his sincere repentance followed by righteous deeds, to good deeds (hasanat). Allah says in surat Al-Furqan, (verse 70), what can be translated as:

“…Those who repent and believe, and do righteous deeds, for those, Allah will change their sins into good deeds…”
Al-Furqan, (25:70)

All this is to prevent the sinners from feeling hopeless of the mercy of Allah!

We can’t even begin to comprehend the mercy of Allah…

“Some sabi (war prisoners, children and woman only) were brought before the prophet (S.A.W.) and behold, a woman amongst them, her chest was full of milk, and she found her baby boy amongst the captives, she took him over her chest and nursed him. The prophet said to his companions, “Do you think that this lady would throw her baby boy in the fire?” They replied, “No, if she has the power not to throw him in the fire.” The prophet said, “Allah is more merciful to His servants than this lady to her son.”
[Bukhari and Muslim]

Upon reading the Hadith above, we could start relying on the mercy of Allah too much, and a companion of Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) felt the same way, as the following hadith illustrates:

Narrated Anas bin Malik:”Once Mu’adh was along with Allah’s Apostle as a companion rider. Allah’s Apostle said, “O Mu’adh bin Jabal.” Mu’adh replied, “Labbaik and Sa’daik. O Allah’s Apostle!” Again the Prophet said, “O Mu’adh!” Mu’adh said thrice, “Labbaik and Sa’daik, O Allah’s Apostle!” Allah’s Apostle said, “There is none who testifies sincerely that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is his Apostle, except that Allah, will save him from the Hell-fire.” Mu’adh said, “O Allah’s Apostle ! Should I not inform the people about it so that they may have glad tidings?” He replied, “When the people hear about it, they will solely depend on it.” Then Mu’adh narrated the above-mentioned Hadith just before his death, being afraid of committing sin (by not telling the knowledge).

The prophet (S.A.W.) made utmost effort to clarify the reality of the mercy of Allah (S.W.T.) with His servants so that Muslims will be merciful among one another and be merciful with others, and know that this mercy is the way to gain the mercy of Allah.

The prophet (PBUH) said: “The merciful people will have mercy bestowed upon them by Allah (S.W.T.). Be merciful with those on earth, so He who in the heaven (Allah) will have mercy on you.”
Imam Abu Dawud, At-Tirmithi

The prophet (PBUH) said: “Allah will not have mercy on the one who does not have mercy on people.”
[Imam Bukhari, Muslim and At-Tirmithi]

Mercy that we must show doesn’t stop at other humans, as this mercy is to be extended to animals as well:

The prophet (PBUH) said, “…And if you slaughter, slaughter well. Let each one of you sharpen his blade and let him spare suffering to the animal he slaughters.”
[Imam Muslim]

The Quran and hadith speak of this topic in much greater depth than what I have quoted above.
